Title 1 schools are the kinds of schools that give extra instructional support for the students and not limited to the regular classroom. The main purpose of these schools is to help the low achieving students to meet the state standards in core academic subjects. These schools are in charge of coordinating and integrating resources from federal, state, and local sources. A school can be considered as a Title 1 school if it has at least 40% of the students that are considered low income.
Apparently, there are a total of two programs available for Title 1 schools. The first one is the targeted assistance school program and the second one is the schoolwide program. Two of them have the same goal, which is to improve teaching and learning to make it possible for the students who participate to meet the learning standards.
