- Technology requirements
In order to fully participate in all courses and to be able to do testing, it is a must for the students to get access to a computer with video and audio capability. The bookstores owned by UNG now have UNG IT Approved Dell laptops, webcams, as well as accessories available to be purchased. If you are interested in purchasing them online, you can go to ungbookstore.com.
If you are wondering about the UNG minimum computer requirements, they include 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster x86-bit or x64-bit processor (CPU); 2 GB RAM (memory); 80 GB Hard Drive (hard disk); 1024 x 768 screen resolution (display); DirectX 10 Graphics Card or higher (graphics); Windows 7 or higher (operating system); the current version of Chrome or Firefox (browser); webcam.
- Laptop loaner programs
Each UNG campus has laptops with webcam and microphone capabilities that are available to be borrowed. The ones who pay first will be able to get the things first. In order to borrow the laptop, it is a must for you to make a request through the Student Equipment Loaner form. First of all, go to https://auth.ung.edu/. Please log in to be taken to the next step. As stated on the official website of University of North Georgia, the requests made through the Student Equipment Loaner form are the ones that will be honored, meaning there is no other option for you to borrow the laptop from the university.
- Assistive technology
There are some challenges that can prevent the student from getting the equal access to technology they need. Identifying each of them with the thing known as a Student Disability Service representative is effective to help in the process of using the right technology. Each of them has to be done. The reason is because there are just too many challenges to mention all the possibilities that are available. One thing should be remembered is that technology accommodations are based on the needs and strengths of the students.
