A nurse student is asked by her Preceptor Diana Shadow to do her assignments. Basically, she is asked to interview a patient named Tina Jones. She is a 28-year-old African American woman who has just been admitted to Shadow General Hospital for a painful foot wound. The role of the student in this simulation is that of a healthcare provider who will take the health history of the patient, which is known to be the important thing of her admission process.

When asked by the student about the objectives of the student in this assessment, Diana Shadow states that a health history requires the student to ask questions related to the past and present health of Ms. Jones, from her current food wound to her pre-existing conditions. Besides, the student will also want to review the systems, psychosocial history, and family medical history of the patient. The assessments together will give the student the comprehensive picture of the overall health of the patient.
