What do I have to do to start using Parent Access of PowerSchool? You must allow your school to know that you are interested in viewing your child’s information online. After you are properly identified, you will be provided with your student’s access ID and password. It is important for you to know that each child will have a separate access ID and you will have to link each to the account that you create in Parent Access. If you find any difficulties in accessing your PowerSchool Parent Portal, your school will be the point of contact for support. However, if there are any issues that need escalation, it will be handled by the school and central support. How to Login into PowerSchool Student/ Parent Access

After that, you will be taken to the Parent Sign In page. If you are a parent and you want to log in, you have to click on the Sign In tab and then you have to enter your username and password. After you enter your username and password, then you have to click on the Sign In button.

However, if you are a parent, but you have not created an account yet, you have to create it first by clicking on the Create Account tab and then click on the Create Account button. Then, you have to enter the information in the Parent Account Details area and also in the Link Students to Account area. If you have filled in all of the fields, then you have to click on the Enter button at the bottom right of the form.

If you are a student and you want to login, you have to click on the Student Sign In button on the Parent Sign In page. Then, you will be taken to the Student sign in page.

If you forgot your username or password, you are able to click on the ‘Forgot Username or Password?’ in the PowerSchool Parent Sign In page. After clicking on it, then you have to recover account sign in information. For parents, if you want to recover your password or if you have been provided a username and are setting your password for the first time, you have to provide the information in that Recover page by entering Parent username and Parent email address. And then, you must  hit on the Enter button. However, for students, you have to contact the school directly.

The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System uses one of the features available through their District’s Student Information System named PowerSchool Parent Portal. There, parents/ guardians have access to the student information records of their children through a secure Internet connection.

With PowerSchool, you are able to access your child’s grades and attendance and it is another form of communication with teachers and administrators with the aim of supporting the education of your child.

Here are the important things that you need to know about using PowerSchool Parent Portal according to the Parent Portal Agreement page of the SCCPSS site.

  • You have to make sure that you keep your username and password secret. It is also important for you not to share your log-in information to your child because there is a parent or guardian specific information. However, grades and attendance data can be shared to your child.
  • You can determine which parents or guardians can access records. By being able to log in to the Parent Portal, it means that you acknowledge that you are authorized to view the site.
  • If parents/ guardians have security problems with the Parent Portal, they must notify their school office soon.
  • If parents/ guardians are recognized as a security risk to the Parent Portal, they will be denied access.
  • The concerns about grades should be solved in a conversation with your child. Then, a discussion is able to be directed to the student’s teacher by email, phone or parent conference.
  • The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System has the right to keep track of, copy, review, inspect and save at any time, and without previous notice.
