PowerSchool has been used by over 12K districts, schools and other education institutions which supports more than 45 million students. With the help of the PowerSchool educational program, students, teachers and parents will be connected to make them easier to communicate.

One of the school districts that used the PowerSchool for improving their learning outcomes is Rankin County School District. The Powerschool RCSD is allowing the students and also parents to check attendance, grades through web or mobile device and assignment completion.

How to Access the PowerSchool RCSD?

Both students, teachers, staff, and also parents have their own portals to login. Certainly, the users are required to access the link, based on their status. Well, to ease you accessing the PowerSchool in RCSD, here’s a list of links that can be accessed by certain user:

Parent Portal

Parents of RCSD’s students who want to log into PowerSchool RCSD have to access the portal login same as the student portal login at https://rankin.powerschool.com/public/. The difference is, if students have to fill in the username and password they got from school, while for parents, they can fill in the username and password they got when registering.

How to create a PowerSchool RCSD account? If you’re a parent and want to access the PowerSchool RCSD, you definitely should create an account first. To create an account, you can click on the ‘Create Account’ tab in the login portal. You can then click on the ‘Create Account’ option.

By clicking on the option, you will be taken into the registration page. Here, you will be required to fill in your personal information including your first name, your last name, your email, your desired username, your password.

After that, you need to link your child’s account to your account. You can also link some students to yours in one account. To link the students to your account, you definitely need to enter the Access ID, Access Password and also relationship for each student you want to add to your account.

Once you fill all forms, you can click the Enter button to continue registration. After you successfully create an account in PowerSchool RCSD, you can log into your Parent Portal by using your username and password that you have created. You may need to enter your district code: BFTC.

How if you forget your username and password? To recover your username, you just simply access the recovery page here. To reset your username, you can click on the ‘Forgot Username?’ tab. Here, you are required to enter your email address. Sure, there will be an email that confirms your username recovery.

If you want to reset your password, you need to click on the ‘Forgot Password?’ tab. A new window will require you to enter your username and your email address. Sure, there will be email that allows you to follow on-screen instructions until you successfully reset your password.

Teacher Portal

If you are a teacher of Rankin County SchoolD District and want to access the PowerSchool, you also need to login first. To access the Teacher Portal for PowerSchool RCSD, log into your account https://rankin.powerschool.com/teachers/pw.html. Here, you need to enter your username and password and click the ‘Sign In’ button.

Administrator Portal

For RCSD administrators who want to access the PowerSchool RCSD program, go to this link at https://rankin.powerschool.com/admin/pw.html. Just like teachers, you  also have to enter your username and password and click the ‘Sign In’ button to login.

What You Will Find in PowerSchool RCSD?

Certainly, the PowerSchool RCSD provides a lot of sections that ease the student, teacher and also parent to access to what they are looking for. The PowerSchool Administrator allows you to find as much information you need.

Through RCSD PowerSchool Administration, you can access some information, based on the school stages including Elementary Schools, Middle Schools and High Schools. PowerSchool provides some sections for sach school stage, here are they:

  • Reports section

In the report section, you will find Class Rosters, At Risk Report, D & F Report, Do this BEFORE running Honor Roll, Honor Roll and List Map Test Scores

  • Report Cards

Report Cards provide verification sheets (Q1, Q2/S1, Q3/ Q4/S2/Y1), Standard verifications, report cards, save a copy of report cards and a section which informs the teachers who have finalized grades in the gradebook.

  • Labels

The ‘Labels’ section is only for elementary school which provides the information about Run Cumulative Folder labels, Print PreK-1 Labels Guide, Print 1stRepeaters_ALL2 Labels Guide and Print 3-6 Labels Guide.

  • GPA’s

This section provides information about a tutorial of how to find GPA, class rank, average GPA for the 6th grade, Hall of Fame GPA, Current Core GPA, Core GPA for Beta Club and MS Core S1 GPA Current Year.

  • Fees

The Fees section is providing the information about Fee Reports and Info and MySchoolBucks.

  • Store Grade

The Store Grade section informs the process of storing the student’s grade from the teacher’s gradebook into historical grades in PowerSchool for all courses. For elementary school’s storing grades, it consists store S1 grades, store S2 grades and store Y1 grades.

For middle school’s storing grades, it consists of  store S1 grades, store S2 grades and store Y1 grades as well as Re-Store S1 for year long courses at EOY. For high school storing grades, it consists of store S1 grades, store S2 grades and store Y1 grades, as well as Re-store S1 for Year Long Courses at EOY.
