What is PowerSchool MCS?
With PowerSchool, the parents are able to access important information about their children accurately and quickly. The parents will be able to see the results of the tests and assignments as soon as they are recorded. Also, PowerSchool allow the parents to communicate with the teachers and guidance counselors. PowerSchool is going to assist the parents help their children reach their potential. Aside from that, PowerSchool is a comprehensive student information system which will allow the Modesto City Schools District to manage a wealth of information online easily: be it grades, report cards, assessments, transcripts, or daily attendance.
Students Sign in
The students are able to login to PowerSchool using their MCS network account (user ID) and password. Please contact your school website if you have forgotten your password or user ID.
Here are some steps that you have to do to login to PowerSchool MCS as a student:
- At the first step, you have to visit www.mcs4kids.com.
- After that, you have to select PowerSchool.
- Then, you are able to see PowerSchool login. Select to login as a student.
- The next step is to click Go to Login button.
- Once you are on the page of Student Sign in, simply you are able to select language: English or Spanish.
- Afterwards, you are able to enter your username.
- Next, enter your password.
- The last step, you only need to click at sign in button.

Students – Forgot Username or Password?
Sometime you may forget your username or password so that you will not be able to login to your account.
If you forget your password, here are steps to do:
- At the first step, you have to visit www.mcs4kids.com.
- Once you are on the page of Student and Parent Sign in, simply you are able to click Forgot Username or Password? link. By clicking that link you will be able to get rid of your username or password.
- To recover your password or if you have been provided a username and are setting your password for the first time, give the information below. The students need to contact the school directly.
- Please enter parent username.
- Then, enter parent email address.
- Lastly, click enter button.

Parents – Getting Started
- Get Your Access Account & Password
Contact your school’s office to request your PowerSchool Access Account information be sent to you. A letter is going to be mailed to you with the codes you need. To protect the confidentiality of your student’s information, MCS teams do not provide Access ID’s and passwords over the phone or via email.
- Make Parent Portal Account
Apparently, there are two separate parent portals. The first one is for grades K-8 and the second one is for grades 9-12. You have to make an account for each portal if you have students in K-8 and 9-12. After you have retrieved the PowerSchool Access Account code and password from step one above, you are able to follow the links to set up your account and register your code. Please click on the link which says CREATE ACCOUNT.
- Returning Users
After you have set up your parent login(s) and associated your students to your login by submitting their Student Account Codes, you are able to login directly by entering your Parent Username and Password that you made in the second step above.
