- Login issue
If you have an issue where you cannot login to the D2L login portal, you can try to clear your browser cache and history. Sometimes, some browsers are stubborn and refreshing will not work. So you have to remove the page copies your browser is saving. However, it’s named clearing your cache.
Aside from clearing your cache and history, you can also close your browser completely and try to re-open the browser and try to access the D2L Brightspace through the login portal or via MyPCC. If you confront any issues even though you have tried the ways above, you can try to use a different browser and check if you can login to access the D2L Brightspace or not.
- Can’t find or access a course
If you get an issue where you cannot find or access a course, you may lose some important requirements. In fact, in order to find or access an online course, you should be officially registered at PCC and be on the official class roster before you’re able to access your online class.
If you’re on the class wait-list, you won’t have access to the class. After you are moved from the wait-list to the official class roaster, you should wait at least 24 hours before you can access your class.
- Can’t see your courses on the My Courses box
If you do not see your courses within the My Courses box , you can try to choose the course selector (represented as a waffle icon at the top of your D2L Brightspace account). However, this area will display any courses that you currently have access to. Then, by clicking on the course will take you to the course homepage.
If the instructors can use the D2L Brightspace for their course on campus, but they’re not required to do so. So, you can contact your instructor if you do not see your on campus course listed with the D2L Brightspace to confirm whether they’re going to use the system or not.
- Missing your course or content
If you have looked for the missing course and content, but you cannot still find it, you can notify the PCC’s online learning team and tell them what your problem is. Instead, you can send them a form in the event your D2L Brightspace course is empty or missing content. The form can be obtained here. Make sure to always keep in contact with your instructor if you’re getting any issues with your course.
- Can’t see video on online course
If you cannot watch videos which are supposed to be in your courses, you can try to add some sites to your browser’s whitelist. Here, you can enable third-party cookies for Kaltura Integration. Your browser will block the third-party cookies which are required to see and manage videos in Kaltura.
In this case, you should enable third-party cookies to use Kaltura as it needs to communicate with D2L Brightspace to verify who you are and where you want to save your videos.
Is It Necessary to Set Up the D2L Notification?
Within your D2L Brightspace account, you’re able to add or edit the types of notifications you can receive from the system including the text message and email options. Aside from providing the Student Help Desk, PCC’s online learning team also provides the Online Learning Faculty Help Desk that will help for instructors with online courses or courses that use D2L Brightspace.
This Help Support is managed by college staff from Monday to Friday 8 a.m to 5 p.m. After 5 p.m and on weekends additional coverage is provided by D2L user support staff.
