Your instructor may utilize D2L Marquette for the course materials, syllabus, quizzes, grades, assignments, discussion boards and more. For your information, undergraduate students first gain access to D2L Marquette on January 25, 2021, the start of classes for Spring Sessions 1 and 2. Some instructors may select to open D2L Marquette sooner. If you add a spring 2021 class on or after January 25, your D2L Marquette access to that new class takes up to 24 hours to process. Some instructors use the feature on D2L Marquette course sites to announce class updates and learning expectations, whether in person or remote. If your instructor needs you to take a quiz or exam via online proctoring in D2L, please learn how to prepare and take the online assessment.

Submitting an assignment
In addition, here we are going to share information about submitting an assignment. The Assignments tool allows you to submit assignments in D2L Marquette, eliminating the need to mail, fax, or email your work to instructors. Simply, you are able to upload your submission to the appropriate assignment and submit.
Understanding due dates and end dates: You have to know that a due date is the submission deadline of an assignment in your course. This date is specific to assignments only. End dates are attached to assignments. While the end date is the final date an assignment is available for you to submit to, regardless of the due date. After the end date of the assignment is past, you are no longer able to submit, no matter what the assignment’s due date is.
To submit assignments:
- From the navbar, you have to click Assignments.
- On the Assignments page, you have to click on the assignment you want to submit to.
- Please follow the assignment instructions, and do one of the below:
- Type the assignment directly in the Text Submission field. Once you finish your written response, simply click Submit.
- To browse for the file which you want to submit, click Add a File. You are able to attach files from your local computer or storage device, a personal locker, a group locker, or Brightspace ePortfolio. Please enter any comments you want to submit with the file. Simply, click Submit.
- You are able to choose Record Audio to add feedback. Once you finish a recording, click Add. Then, enter any comments you want to submit with the file. Just click Submit.
- Please click Mark as Complete to manually mark an assignment as completed.
- If your instructor enabled e-rater Grammar feedback, to see grammar feedback on your assignment, on the Submission History page, you are able to click the View e-rater grammar feedback link in the Inline Feedback column. If your assignment allows some submissions, you will be able to incorporate any grammar feedback and resubmit your assignment.
For notes:
- If the assignment is Turnitin enabled, it means that the file you submitted is pre-validated at the time of submission to ensure it is within the Turnitin file type and size requirements.
- If GradeMark or the Originality Check has been enabled, you are able to view your Submission ID within your Submission History page.
- Depending on your course settings, you may be able to see any rubrics which are used to evaluate your work directly on the submission page.
