LAUSD MiSiS Support Desk

My Integrated Student Information System (MiSiS) is a modernized all-in-one student information solution which provides the teachers, administrators, counselors and others with access to student information all in one place. MiSiS is also the first fully –integrated student information system in LAUSD.

There are two reasons why the District built a new student information system. First, the former student data systems were not yet fully developed and didn’t provide everything the District needed. Second, the District is obligated to meet the requirements set forth by the Modified Consent Decree.

Well, if the users encounter any troubles with MiSiS, don’t worry, the MiSiS provides the Support Desk to give them solutions for the issues they face. So, what are the kinds of the issues and solutions you will find on MiSiS? Let’s see them below!

MiSiS Get Help

There are different ways to get help with MiSiS depending on your needs, here are they:

Technical Support

You can get help with technical support by contacting the IT Helpdesk to find troubleshooting technical issues including login issues or accessing the District’s network. You can also contact the IT HelpDesk to report a technical problem with MiSiS. Here are the ways to request technical support:

  • Submit a Support Request Online

To submit a support request online, you’re required to sign in first by entering your full LAUSD email address and password.

  • Chat Live with HelpDesk Agent

Because of unusually high chat volume, you may experience a greater hold time than usual. You can choose to Chat Live with Help Desk Agent starting from 7:00 A.M to 3:30 P.M. Before doing chat-live with an agent, you will be required to fill in your name, LAUSD ID, choose the issue you may encounter and tell them your issue. You can then click on the ‘Get Support Now’ button.

Some notes:

  • LAUSD  ID refers to either your employee number or contractor number. Well, this service will only be available to current active employees and contractors of LAUSD.
  • Live chat will be available between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on days when schools are in session.
  • Chat support for Welligent will be available from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m, if you need additional support, you can use Self Service or call the Help Desk at 213-241-5200 and choose  option 8.
  • Chat Support for Schoology is not available at this time. If you need Schoology Support, you can use Self Service or call the Help Desk at 213-241-5200 and choose option 5.

When Chat with a Live Agent, there are some options to choose depending on your issues. You can press the number:

#1 for Computers Under Warranty

  • Press 1 for Apple computers under warranty
  • Press 2 for laptops, desktops, and classroom camera systems for online-hybrid learning purchased through Arey Jones
  • Press 3 to the main menu

#2 for All Password Issues

#3 for Payroll or Benefits Support

  • Press 1 for timekeeper or time approval questions
  • Press 2 for benefits

#4 for Facilities Technical Support

#5 for MiSiS, DACE-SIS, Schoology, or Independent Charter Suspension Expulsion

  • Press 1 for Schoology
  • Press 2 for all other student information system issues

#6 for Budget and Financial Assistance

#7 for Procurement Questions, Including Travel

#8 for Any Other Issues

Training

Are you interested in learning how to get the most out of using MiSiS? Sure, you can take advantage of various training opportunities available throughout the year including online and face-to-face options.

To take advantage of training, you can check MyPLN often to see the current offerings and register at http://achieve.lausd.net/mypln. You need to enter your username and password.

Discussion Forum

If you are looking for the solution for MiSiS issues, you can try talking with your peers about using MiSiS using the Discussion Forum. Well, you can join the conversation on the discussion forum by logging in first. Visit the link and click on the ‘LAUSD Single Sign On’ button to start discussion on the forum.

Additional requirements

You may also get an MiSiS issue which is related to known issues or also system requirements. It’s important to note that MiSiS requires the high operating system and/ or web browsers to make sure you are getting the highest quality experience when working with MiSiS.

How to Access MiSiS?

The one Access Request System allows the school employees to request for new or additional user role access to the MiSiS application. Well, this electronic method is easier and faster for both users who are applying for user roles as well as administrators authorizing requests. However, this application will be available via the LAUSD network and from home over the Internet.

The advantages when using the OneAccess include no more paper forms, faster processing time and automatic emails sent to users after approval. It’s important to note that you should have an active District Single Sign-On (SSO) account to use the system. In this case, oneAccess can also be used to ask for a new or reactive District Single Sign-On (SSO) account.

Additionally, the paper requests should still be submitted under the following circumstances: if you’re employed by a Local District/ central office and review the opening a Remedy Ticket for MiSiS Access Job aid for assistance with submitting the paper request.

The resources which are available to help with requesting user access to MiSiS include:

Moreover, the school based personnel can apply to access the MiSiS using MiSiS Access Request Form – School that can be obtained here. Local District and Central office based personnel can apply to access MiSiS using the MiSiS Access Request Form – Local District/Central Office that can be obtained here.

When you try to access MiSiS, you may need the Guide to MiSiS User Roles which will assist you decide which user role(s) to apply for and as an administrator, which user roles to approve.
