Basically, the formula of the default password is mmmyxxxxx (all lower case), where mmm refers to the first three letters of the birth month, yy means the last two digits of the birth year, and xxxxx is the last five digits of your Kent State ID Number.

In order to log in to FlashLine for the first time ever, please follow these following steps. The first thing that you have to do is to go to https://kent.edu and click on FlashLine Login located on the top right side. Then, enter the FlashLine username that was provided in your acceptance or hire letter and the default password and then press the Login button. The next thing that you have to do is to enter some information such as an alternate email address that will be used to send a temporary password in case you forget your FlashLine password, three security questions that will help you in case you do not remember your password one day, and your password. Do not forget to click Submit after that. Once you have clicked the Submit button, you will be able to see the Success word on the screen. Upon seeing it, please click OK and you will be logged directly into FlashLine. By following all the instructions, you should now be able to sign into FlashLine, email and all the other services offered by Kent State University. If any of you are unable to sign in and change your password, feel free to call the Helpdesk at 1-330-672-4357 so that the representative of the Kent State University can work through some additional verification and provide you with a password reset.
