After your children have registered on Raz-Kids, they will be assigned by their teachers to read books. So, your children will have to do the assignments, but how to find assignments on Raz-Kids? Here, we will reveal the way to do it.
Finding Assignments on Raz-Kids
To find assignments on Raz-Kids is very easy. And here are the steps for finding assignments on Raz-Kids.
- The first thing that your child has to do to find their assignments is to login to Raz Kids. To do that, they have to click on the green Kids Login button in the Raz-Kids homepage.
- Then, your child will be taken to a page where they have to enter their teacher’s username and then click on the Go button.
- After that, they will be taken to a page where there are a number of names of students there. The thing to do here is to click on your child’s name.
- And then, enter the password of your child.
- Now, your child will be taken to their page where they have a number of information such as how many books that they have read and listened to and how many quizzes that they have passed.
- Go down the screen and you will find Your Recent Assignment. That is where the assignments of your child are.
- If there is a box saying Reading Assignments under Your Recent Assignment, you are able to click on it. And there, you can see how many reading assignments that you have to read.
If you want to do the assignments which means that you want to read the books, you have to scroll down on that page and then click on the book that you are assigned to read it. If you want to listen to the book first, you have to click on the Play button. Then, it will read the book for you and there will be highlights running on the story word by word along the process of listening. You have to click on the Next button to open the next page. After you finished listening to the book, then there will be a screen with your score and the headphone icon will have a check mark.
After listening to the book, then you can read it by clicking on the book icon. When you are reading the book, you may find words which you are not sure of. If so, you can click on that word and then there will be a dialog bubble with some options including Hear Word, Highlight and Add to Word Journal. If you want to know how to read that word, just click on the Hear Word. If you want to highlight the word, you can click on the Highlight option. After you finish reading the book, you will see that in the book icon, you also have a check mark. Now, you can do the quiz.
However, it is recommended for you to read it twice to make you understand more about the story so that you can answer the questions in the quizz correctly.
If you want to record your reading, you can go back to the book and you will find a microphone icon at the top of the book. To record your reading, you can click on that icon and then click on the recording button in a circle icon to start your recording. After you finish recording your reading, you have to click on the Stop button.
Raz-Kids Student Portal
The student portal of primary and intermediate students are different. However, they have the same menu including Level Up, My Assignments, Reading Room, Messages, Star Zone, Stats, and Badges. In the primary student portal of Raz Kids, there is a Flight Check, meanwhile in the intermediate student portal of Raz Kids, there is an Assessments.
In the primary student portal, the look is in the space theme and it is available through KidsA-Z.com and on the Kids A-Z mobile app. In the intermediate student portal, the portal is customizable and it is available through KidsA-Z.com and on the Kids A-Z mobile app.
Now, let’s see the function of each menu in the Raz-Kids student portal.
- Level Up
In this menu, there is a collection of books that students are able to complete to advance to the next learning A-Z reading level automatically. Students will level up automatically if they listen and read all the books and pass the quiz with a score of 80% or higher. Teachers are permitted to assign reading levels to students and customize the listen version of books any time in the Classroom Roster.
- My Assignment
This is an area to complete activities that teachers have assigned.
- Reading Room
This area is to access reading resources for reading practice and enjoyment. Students will be able to find level-appropriate books by category, topic and popularity easily.
- Messages
Students will be able to use the dashboard to navigate to messages from you or their parents and to see notifications when they get badges.
- Star Zone
Students can earn stars by completing activities and the stars that they earned can be spent to customize their avatar in the Avatar Builder or Raz Rocket in the Star Zone.
- Stats
This is the area to check reading progress and badges.
- Badges
If students can achieve milestones, they will be rewarded with Badges. Badges will help them to set goals and be more engaged in their learning.
- Flight Check
It appears for students when teachers assign them a digital assessment such as a digital Running Record using the Benchmark Passages or Books. Teachers are able to assess the reading level of a student digitally, ability to name letters, and ability to recognize high frequency words.
- Assessments
