To delete your CodeHS account, you may need to request deletion of your own Personal Information by sending an email to Code HS Support at hello@codehs.com. If you only want to deactivate your CodeHS account, you can do it at any time via the Account Settings page.
In the proper situation, the teacher and your parents can also request deletion of a student’s Personal Information. If you request a deletion of your CodeHS account, you will no longer use the services. They will remove your or your student’s information with reasonable measures to protect against unauthorized access to or use of the information in connection with its deletion.
When they remove a user’s personal information, it will be removed from their active database, but they probably retain an archived copy of such user’s records as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
CodeHS Support will store your personal information including after the school term where a teacher or student uses the Services, for only as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which the information was gathered. In general, CodeHS will remove your personal information 4 years after the user’s last login to the Services.
CodeHS has implemented reasonable measures that are designed to secure your information from unauthorized access use, disclosure and alteration and also from accidental loss. Need to know, any payment information is transmitted with HTTPS encryption and will be processed through Stripe, a third party payment provider. In this case, CodeHS will not directly gather or store payment instruments.
Furthermore, the safety and security of your personal information will depend on you. Then, you will be responsible to choose a strong password and keep it confidential. If there is a data breach that affects your information, they will comply with a relevant legal or regulatory notification requirements.
Who Can Access Your Personal Information?
In the step of creating your CodeHS account, you may have to enter your name, your email address and a username. If you are a student, you may need to enter a class code given by your teacher to link your account to your classroom and your school. If you are a teacher, you will be prompted to provide information about your school, so they will be able to verify that you are a real teacher.

They may disclose information that they collect or you give as described in this privacy policy to a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, restructuring, divestiture, dissolution, reorganization or other sale or transfer of some of all of their assets, where the Personal Information that they hold is among the assets transferred.
In this case, the Privacy Policy will continue to apply to your information and any acquirer can only handle your Personal Information as per the Policy, unless you give consent to a new policy.
They may also provide you with prompt notice of an acquisition by posting on their homepage or by email to your email address that you provided to us. If you don’t consent to the use of your Personal Information by such a successor company, you probably request that the company remove it.
What Your Information Will Be Disclosed by CodeHS?
CodeHS will disclose your personal information, including:
