You are able to earn Course Hero Unlocks for free by uploading your own study materials and documents to help other students learn. When you upload your material, you are going to receive 5 Unlocks for every 10 successful uploads. Any Unlocks you earn are good for 30 days, and can be used to see and download full Course Hero documents. Warning: This does not include any promotional, educator, or bonus unlocks being offered
How Many Course Hero Unlocks Per Month?
We are sure that you are very curious to know how many documents you can unlock per month on Course Hero. You have to know that for every paid membership choice, you are going to get 30 Unlocks per month, starting on your subscription date. Your Unlocks are going to refresh every month from the original registration date, and unused Unlocks do not carry over. You will be able to buy additional Unlocks after you run out, as long as you have a Premier Membership. If you accept Unlocks from uploading your documents, they are going to expire 30 days after you receive them. For note: Course Hero does not offer unlimited unlocks.
What Does It Mean to Unlock A Document?
Unlocking a document or unlocking Textbook Solution and Explanation gives you the ability to fully view it. For the entirety of your Course Hero subscription, you are able to visit your account page to have access to all documents and Textbook Solutions and Explanations you have previously unlocked.
Does Viewing A Document Count as Unlocking It?
No. If you search a document and just see its preview, it does not count as an Unlock. Course Hero wants you to be able to see if a document is relevant to you before you decide to unlock it. You will need to click Unlock Document for it to be counted. Then you will be able to fully view and download it.
If I Do Not Use All My Unlocks, Will They Expire?
Yes, of course. If you bought a Premier Membership, your Unlocks are going to reset back to 30 every 30 days as long as you continue your membership. After your membership expires, the Unlocks will expire as well. If you accepted Unlocks via uploading, they are going to expire 30 days after you receive them.
How Can I View How Many Unlocks I Have Left?
There are three methods to find out your unlock balance:
- Your Unlock balance is going to be shown above any study document you view.
- Your Unlock and Question balances are going to be shown on the bottom left of the navigation panel in your account dashboard.
- If you obtained Unlocks, your available obtained Unlock balance will be viewable on your My Rewards dashboard under Available Earned Unlocks.
Can I Pay to Unlock Additional Documents?
Yes, of course. If you have run out of Unlocks and also have a Premier Membership, then you are able to pay to receive additional Unlocks for your account. These Unlocks are going to last for one year from the purchase date. Now, you are able to go to the page where you will be able to buy additional Unlocks. If your study documents have not been processed within this time frame, you are able to contact their Support Team by using the Contact Us button. Keep in mind that uploaded documents must be processed automatically before they are added to Course Hero’s database and credited to your account. Also, you will not accept credit for documents which are denied by Course Hero’s automated processing system. Usually, study documents are most denied because a duplicate version already exists on Course Hero. Or it is also because they contain random and/or irrelevant content. In order to get Unlocks, the minimum upload requirements have to be met.
Do I Have To Pay? How Much Does It Cost?
Course Hero platform offers a Basic (free) Membership as well as a paid Premier Membership. Free members are able to seek help from their online tutors at an a la carte price. Premier members will be able to unlock up to 30 documents and/or User Questions. Also, Premier members will be able to access all Textbook Solutions and Explanations in Course Hero’s library and receive up to 40 Questions.
