DCPS (District of Columbia Public Schools) uses Canvas 101 as a learning platform for students. Some of you may new in using this platform so you think that you need to train yourself using it. Canvas is the one-stop shop where students will be able to go to learn online. What will students do on canvas? Here are the things that students will be able to do in Canvas.

As a student, you need to know that every day counts. So, you have to sign in daily between 6:00 am and 11.59 pm. If you login to the campus, it is easy. You have to visit dcps.instructure.com and then you have to enter your DCPS username and password to log in. You have to download the Canvas Student app onto your smartphone or tablet.

After you log in, you will be in the Dashboard of Canvas. There, you will see Canvas Course Companion. You can click on the course, if you want to see what a teacher has planned. Students in PK3 and PK4 will be able to use one course companion. For elementary students in grades K-5, they will see just one course companion. For secondary grades in 6 to 12, they have multiple course companions.

  • You are able to see the upcoming assignments on your personal calendar.
  • You are able to connect with your teachers and classmates.
  • There are immersive reader tools.
  • Students will be able to get assignments there.
  • Also, you can use Microsoft Teams with it.
