Your instructors may be providing some contents and assignments through Brightspace by D2L. For your information, D2L is SFA’s learning management system. It will be essential for you to check D2L Brightspace SFA frequently to stay up-to-date with each of your courses.
Accessing Brightspace by D2L
You are able to access Brightspace in one of two methods below:
Method 1: Logging into mySFA. Then, click the Brightspace button.
- At the first step, you have to enter your MySFA username.
- After that, you have to enter your own password.
- Please ensure that you enter your MySFA username and password correctly so that you will be able to login successfully.
- The last step, you only need to click at the Login button.
Method 2: Visiting https://d2l.sfasu.edu and signing in with your mySFA credentials.
- At the first step, you have to enter your MySFA username.
- After that, you have to enter your own password.
- Please ensure that you enter your MySFA username and password correctly so that you will be able to login successfully.
- The last step, you only need to click at the Login button.
For note: Supported browsers include Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Apple Safari. Please do not access Brightspace by using Internet Explorer or Edge.
Lookup mySFA Username
Now, we are going to share a way to look up mySFA username. Some of you may not know this way.
After you fill in the correct information below, your mySFA username is going to be displayed. But, if you do not remember your password, you are able to call (936)468-7277.
- Firstly, enter your Campus ID.
- Then, enter your password to look up your mySFA username.
- The last step, click at the Submit button.
For note: This may take several seconds to process. Just hit the Submit button only once.
Lookup Campus ID
Also, we are going to share a way to look up Campus ID. Read the following text if you want to know that information.
After you fill in the correct information below, you are going to be provided with your Campus ID. You are going to need your password to do this. If you do not remember your password, you have to call (936)468-7277.
- Firstly, enter your mySFA username.
- After that, enter your password to look up your Campus ID.
- The last step, click at the Submit button.
For note: This may take several seconds to process. Just hit the Submit button only once.
Resetting Your mySFA Password
Students only
If you forget your mySFA password, it is going to be reset via an SMS PIN code as long as you have been previously enrolled in the Password Reset Server (Thycotic). If your mobile phone number has changed or you have not enrolled yet and need a password reset, you are able to call the Help Desk at 936-468-HELP (4357). Also, you are able to go by the Help Desk location in Ralph W. Steen Library for assistance.
For those who have not yet been enrolled in the Password Reset Server, or still know your password, now is a great time for you to complete enrollment.
All students are encouraged to enroll by these actions below:
- Firstly, go to the Password Reset Server.
- Then, login to complete your profile
- After that, enter your mySFA username, click “Logon”.
- Please complete Enrollment with your mobile phone number (PIN code sent via text).
Employees and Generic Email Accounts
The employees of SFA and owners of generic accounts will not be able to enroll in password reset via SMS PIN code right now. If you want to reset your password, or are the owner of a generic account, you have to call the Help Desk at 936-468-HELP (4357) to get assistance with password changes.
If you know your password, you are able to change from your work computer by doing these steps below:
Windows
From your windows computer, you have to choose Ctrl-Alt-Delete (3 buttons at the same time) and choose the “Change a Password” link.
MAC OS
From your MAC, you are able to change your password by going to the top program bar selecting systems preferences. After that, the users and groups icon, choose your username and you are going to see a “Change Password” button.
For note: The following is the criteria for a new password:
- Your password must have at least 12 characters
- The password must have at least 1 lower case letter, 1 upper case letter, and 1 number
- The password cannot be your own username or contain your own username.
Report a problem
If you are facing problems logging in to mySFA, you have to verify that you are using the correct user name and password by using one of the choices below.
Choice 1:
This choice requires your campus ID and password. It is going to show you the correct user name.
Choice 2:
- Please go to the myPassword service page.
- Then, click the “Edit my Profile” link.
- After that, enter your user name and password.
- If you get a login failure, it signifies that you are not using the correct username and/or password.
If you still cannot login to mySFA, you have to call the Help Desk at (936) 468-HELP (4357).
Stay Up to Date with Notifications
keep up with the latest activity in your courses by enabling your notifications. The notifications are able to be routed to the email or mobile device of your choice.
