D2L Millersville Login

Knowing how to login to D2L is important if you are a student, staff or the faculty members of the Millersville University. It is because this university uses D2L for learning process. It means that students, faculty members and staff will be required to login so that they can access everything there.

How to Login to D2L at Millersville University

To be able to login to D2L, you are able to follow the steps below.

  • First, you have to open your browser. Make sure that it is supported browser.
  • Then, access Millersville University’s Logins and Services Directory: millersville.edu/logins.
  • After that, you have to click on D2L.

  • When you are on the D2L login page, you have to click on the Login button.

  • Then, if you are asked to authenticate, you can do that by using your full Millersville University email address and your password. However, if you are prompted, you can confirm your identity using multi-factor authentication (MFA).

The steps to login above are for students, faculty members and staff of Millersville University.

If you are a student, staff or faculty members from another PASSHE university, you are able to login to D2L by following the steps below.

  • When you are on the D2L Brightspace Login page, you have to choose the InCommon Login button.
  •  After that, you must click on the ‘Enter the name of the organization you are affiliated with…” text box.
  • In this step, type the name of your home institution.

  • There will be the institution list which comes up and narrows as you type and there you need to click your home institution.
  •  If you are asked to authenticate, you are able to use the same username and password that you usually use with your home institution’ systems and services, but if you are prompted, you must confirm your identity using multi-factor authentication.

After you logged in, you are able to see your courses, customize your eLearning experience and explore tools and features.

Username and Password for Accessing D2L at Millersville University

When you have to enter your username and password to access D2L, you may be confused which username and password that you have to enter. If you are a student of Millersville University, your D2L username and password are similar to the username and password that you use to log into your Millersville email, the myVILLE portal and many other campus systems.

How to get a D2L Brightspace account? It is important for you to note that all current students, faculty members and staff members get accounts in D2L. So, if you are a member of the Millersville University community, you may have a D2L account.

Are you a new student or a new employee? If so, you have to make sure that you have completed important first steps as we list below.

  • You must submit all your completed and signed paperwork.
  • If you are a new student, you need to pay your deposit.
  • If you are a new employee, you need to complete the background check and clearance process.

If there is a short delay, you need to be patient because your paperwork is processed into Banner, the student information system. However, if the delay happens after several business days, you are able to contact the IT Help Desk.

  • For Apple macOS, OS X users and you use macOS 10.15 Catalina, 10.14 Mojave, or 10.13 High Sierra,  the browser that you can use are the latest version of:

    • Mozilla Firefox

Some Additional Required Software for D2L

For all courses in D2L, you will need Adobe Reader. It is used to read Portable Document Format (PDF) files which are posted in your course. If you do not have Adobe Reader on your computer, you are able to download it first.

For some courses in D2L, you will also need Microsoft Office, Mu Video Personal Capture, and Zoom. Microsoft Office is needed to create or edit papers, presentations, spreadsheets or other documents. For these goals including file sharing, group collaboration and more,  all Millersville University students, staff and faculty members are provided with Microsoft Office 365 by the university. MU Video Personal Capture is needed to complete video assignments. In some cases to be able to record video, you have to download and install Personal Capture. Zoom is needed for synchronous class sessions for group work, for recording video or for other collaborative purposes.

When Courses Open and Close

Each D2L course will open to students at 12:00 am by default. However, some instructors may adjust the start date of a D2L course. Then, when it closes? D2L course closes at 11:59 pm by default. Same as how it opens, some instructors may adjust the end date of a D2L course. If there is the additional time at the end of a course, it provides students with time to check final grades after they are counted and submitted.
