About ECC Distance Learning
ECC offers three different types of distance learning courses, they are online class, enhanced class and hybrid class. Sure, each type has different rules and techniques as well as the goal. Let’s see the differences between them below!
- Online Class
Online class at ECC is asynchronous, meaning there’s no certain time you should be online. The class can be accessed when you feel convenient, i.e. anywhere and anytime you have Internet access. Online classes are sixteen week classes that follow the same schedule as traditional classes.
- Enhanced Class
The enhanced class is the kind of course where a proportion of evaluation, instruction and communication is performed electronically through Desire2Learn (D2L), however, the traditional time spent in the classroom is not reduced. In this case, the components of the D2L are used to enhance the traditional face-to-face class.
For example, the exams and quizzes may be on D2L, so the instructor can use the student grade book on D2L or the instructor uses the D2L to house additional resources for the class. Well, ECC offers a lot of sections of enhanced classes.
- Hybrid Class
This course is the combination of face-to-face instruction and online instruction. In this case, the hybrid class offers the best of both worlds in which the student can maintain that face-to-face instructor contact and will also have the flexibility of learning at a distance at the same time. To know the hybrid class, let’s see the credit online class page of the ECC Hybrid Credit Schedule for a list of hybrid classes which are recently offered.
