California State University Fullerton (CSUF) seems to make it easy for the students to access the portal. Aside from allowing them to create an account by entering their CWID and PIN, they also give an alternative to make it easy for people to access the CSUF portal with the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).

The CSUF web portal login can be accessed HERE.
After clicking on the link, you will be taken to the login page. Here, you need to enter your username and password. The username can be obtained after registration where you need to enter your CWID.
CSUF also requires you to use the Two-Factor Authentication to login. It applies for all enrolled students including Extension/ Open University & OLLI). The DUO 2FA is also required for all incoming applicants.
When you log into campus services to access some sections, the DUO 2FA here will ask you to confirm your personal information through your personal email address, mobile phone, or also mobile app.
How to Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
To set up the DUO 2FA, go to https://my.fullerton.edu/accounts/csufduomfa/. Here, you will be required to enter your CSUF username and password. Then, click on the ‘Login’ button. Here are multiple steps to set up the 2FA:
- Enrolling in Dua 2FA
When you sign into the CSUF portal, you will find a Duo Mobile Activation Required screen. Here, you can choose to either set up Duo Mobile now, skip the Duo Mobile Setup process or also update your cell phone number.
- Authenticating with Duo 2FA
To authenticate your 2FA, you need to enter your CSUF username and password when you are prompted. After that, click on the ‘Login’ button. Then, you will be required to authenticate using your default device in Duo. You will then need to choose how you want to authenticate.
Here, you need to choose the authentication method you want; get a push notification from the Duo Mobile app, get a phone call from Duo and enter a passcode. Then, to choose another device that you have added to Duo, you need to click on the drop-down menu. Well, whatever the method you select, keep in mind to always check the ‘Remember me for 5 days’. So, you do not have to log into the DUO again on the browser for 5 days.
- Setting Up Duo Mobile App on Mobile Device
To set up the Duo Mobile app on your mobile phone, you need to download and install it first. The Duo Mobile app is available on Google Play Store and App Store.
Then, open a browser to the Student Duo Setup app. You may need to take a picture of a QR code with your mobile phone. So, you cannot use your mobile phone to access the Student Duo setup app.
Following step requires you to enter your username and password. Check the ‘I’m not a robot’ box and click on the ‘Login’ button.
For the next step, you need to click on ‘My Settings & devices’ option. Then, you must choose some options either ‘Call Me’, ‘Enter a Passcode’ or ‘Send Me a Push’.
After that, click on the ‘I don’t have access to my device. Get a one-time authentication code’ option. Once choosing that option, you need to fill out your personal information. Then, click ‘Submit’. Need to know, a code will be sent to your personal email. Then, choose ‘Continue to Add device’.
Certainly, you will be taken into the Duo Screen again. Here, ensure you click on the ‘My Settings & devices’ again. Then, click on the ‘Enter a Passcode’ button and enter the code that has been sent to your email.
After you have clicked ‘Enter a Passcode’, click ‘Text Me new codes’ and then enter the code. Click on the ‘Login’ button.
Then, you need to click on the ‘Device Options’ beside your mobile device. Click on the ‘Activate Duo Mobile’. Select the type of the device from the list and then click ‘Continue’. Click on the ‘I Have Duo Mobile Installed’ option.
After clicking that option, you will find a QR code which you can scan with the Duo Mobile app on your mobile device. Then, you need to open the Duo Mobile app on your mobile device. Click either ‘Add account’ or a (+) located at the top.
To allow a Duo Mobile access camera if prompted, you need to click ‘OK’. Then, to scan the QR code, you need to hold your mobile device up to the computer/laptop screen. Now, the Duo Mobile app is connected to your mobile device. On your laptop/computer, you need to click ‘Continue’ to save your changes.
Congratulations! You successfully authenticate the Duo Mobile App on your mobile device.
How to Create a CSUF Account?
If you are a new applicant, you surely need to create your account by signing in with your CWID (Campus-Wide ID) and also the registration PIN which you received in the email from CSU Fullerton.
To get CWID, you need to go to the CSUF Office of Admissions. However, you may need to wait two business days from the date you obtained your CWID and PIN before you are able to create your campus account.
Aside from that, you can also look up your CWID through this page. Here, you need to enter your last 4 digits of your SSN, your last name and your birthdate. Last, click on the ‘Find My CWID’ button.
To get PIN, you can do a search through this page. Here, you need to enter your last 4 digits of your SSN, your last name and your birthdate. Then, click on the ‘Find My PIN’ button.
After you have obtained your CWID and PIN, tick on the ‘I’m not a robot’ box and click ‘Continue’ for further registration process.
