Countries Which Are Eligible for Chevening Scholarship

According to the Shiksha Study Abroad, if you are the citizens from the countries below, you are eligible to apply for the Chevening Scholarship program.

According to the Chevening website, people who are eligible for Chevening Scholarship are listed below.

  • You have to be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory.
  • You must go back to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your award has finished.
  • All components of an undergraduate degree have been completed where those will permit you to get entry into a postgraduate programme at a UK university by the time you submit your application. Usually, it is equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK. However, it may be different depending on your course and university choice.
  • At least, you must have two years of work experience.
  • You are required to apply to three different eligible UK university courses. Besides, you must have got an unconditional offer from one of these choices by 14 July 2022.

According to that site, you are not eligible for a Chevening Scholarship, if you are as listed below.

  • You own British or dual British citizenship.
  • You own refugee status in a non-Chevening eligible country.
  • You are an employee, a former employee or relative of an employee of Her Majesty’s Government, or have been in the last two years from the opening of Chevening applications, the British Council, a sponsoring UK university or a staff member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
  • It is important to note that if you are a former employee, relatives of an employee or employee of Chevening Partner organisations, you are able to apply. However, let’s say that the employment took place in the last two years. If so, you are not able to get a Chevening Partner Award from the organization from which you work, previously worked or are affiliated with through relatives.
  • You have studied in the UK previously where the funding was from a UK Government-funded scholarship.

Some Tips When Using the Online Application System of Chevening

There are a number of tips for you when using the online application system according to the website of Chevening. Here are some of the tips.

  • It is better for you to use the Google Chrome web browser to have the best experience. It also better to use PC or laptop.
  • It is recommended to work in a full-sized window when you complete your application form.
  • Make sure that you do not use your browser’s ‘back’ and ‘forward’ buttons. It is because it will bring you out of the system and you can lose all unsaved work.
  • You have to use your username and password.
  • You have to enter information correctly especially when you enter your contact details.
  • Note that the application form may take some time to complete. So, you have to consider preparing your answers offline and then you have to paste them into the online form later.
  • You need to know that the questions of the application have word counts. The minimum word count is 100 words per answer and the maximum word count is 500 words per answer.
  • You have to save as you go because there is no automatic save function on the system.
  • If you do not complete the form in one session, you have to use the Logout button.
  • The application needs to be submitted in English.
  • You must check the size and format of the files that you want to upload and make sure they meet the requirements.
