About Austin ISD Portal
As we said before, the Austin ISD Portal allows their community to access applications, resources and information which pertains specifically to them. The Austin ISD Portal gives a single sign-on experience to their applications. So, after logging into the Austin ISD Portal, there is no other sign-in which is needed. The doors to all applications which linked to your role are unlocked now.
The Austin ISD Portal is able to be accessed from within the district as well as from home. The display will be able to set itself to the device it is viewed on. You are able to use your tablet or phone to check in quickly. To access the Austin ISD Portal, the staff, students and family are able to click this URL: https://portal.austinisd.org.
Austin ISD students submit their Portal with their own username and password at https://portal.austinisd.org/. When the students are in, they have access to many applications.
As a student you will have access to the AISD Student Portal. Of course, there is also a Portal for AISD staff and parents. Everyone accesses their Portal by typing portal.austinisd.org in the browser. Please ask your teacher for your username and password. You are able to submit the Portal at school and at home.
When you are in the Portal, you have access to applications which you might need for your homework, or to communicate with your teacher such as:
- Google email and apps
- Supplemental tutorials and guides
- Educational applications beyond assigned work
- Access your grades and set grade notifications
We suggest you to explore the Student Portal on your own. There are lots of resources within the Portal which can expand your classroom experience.
Families of AISD students are able to submit the portal to get access to their student’s grades, bus schedule, school and staff contact information, and much more.
In Austin ISD, the parents will be able to access all their student’s educational information in one place: Parent Portal. To access the Parent Portal, you are able to go to portal.austinisd.org. If you do not have a Parent Portal Account, you have to register for one online. The Parent Portal serves as the main resource for all of the services provided online to their parents. This website gives the parents direct access into their child’s classroom information, district-wide information, registration to your child’s campus, and links to other often used services.
Here are the most frequently utilized applications by parents are:
Parent Self Serve
This application allows the parents to access their student’s attendance and grade records. For your information, Parent Self-Serve is the portal which allows the parents to see their child’s schedule, grades and attendance. Aside from that, the parents will be able to email the teachers and set notification if they want to accept receive emails when their child has been marked absent or has a missing task.
Starting on January 4, 2021, the parents are able to register a new student for the 2021-2022 school year via Parent Self-Serve or go t to the AISD Student Registration system when they are logged into the Portal.
For families who registering students returning to Austin ISD, a Parent Portal account must be made before you are able to access the online registration system. To make a Parent Portal account, you are able to visit portal.austinisd.org. For note: Only parent or guardian contacts can use the online registration system. If you have any questions or need assistance with Parent Portal or online registration, you are able to contact your student’s campus or call the Family Support Line. All returning students who have had a recent change of address have to submit the proof of residency to the campus once returning to school in August. Need to note that additional documentation can be requested by the campus to complete enrollment if those documents are not attached electronically during this online registration process.
For families who registering a new student to AISD, a Parent Portal account must be made before you are able to access the online registration system. To make a Parent Portal account, just visit portal.austinisd.org.
School Messenger is the district’s communication tool. The parents are able to set the modes of district communication in the Portal. School Messenger is the primary mass notification tool utilized by Austin ISD for many communication purposes. It is capable of sending Phone, text messages and Email. Currently, they provide the system with the Mobile Number, Home Number, and Email address of the first two main contacts for each student if that information is available in their Student Information System. Remember that by default only the Email address and Home Number of the first main contact is configured for utilized by School Messenger.
The parents own the ability through the Parent Cloud to custom how School Messenger communicates with you. After you have your students configured in the Parent Cloud you are able to go to MY MESSAGES under the ‘My Student’ menu. There you are going to discover a matrix for each student listing rows of all the numbers and email addresses which are available and columns that describe the types of communication used by the district. The parents are able to check and uncheck boxes to route communications based on their preference.
BLEND allows the parents to support student learning by giving a view of assignments, due dates, communication with instructors and more. Need to know that, BLEND is built upon the Canvas Learning Management System. It offers a secure point of access for blended learning.
Usually, the students are able to use BLEND to:
- Access class materials online using any device.
- Track their progress.
- Accept course announcements, grade notifications, etc.
- Collaborate with the teachers and peers easily.
